Masua - Castello dell'Iride 

The crag of Masua – Castello dell’Iride (Iris’s Castle) is a spectacular sector on a cliff by the sea, really close to the natural monument of Pan di Zucchero. In addition to the landscape, the climbing is wonderful on a perfect vertical rock on drops of stone. You can climb on very different difficulties finding pitches for everyone, from 4c to 8a. Mind the equipment that could be quite demanding in some of the routes. Here a gallery of photos of Masua’s sector.

From Iglesias go to Masua (Nebida), at the crossroad of Masua and Buggerru, turn left following for Masua Beaches. When you arrive at the big parking near the first of two beach, turn right on the steep dirt route, following the direction to get to the mine of Porto Flavia. Pass by a pinewood and, after some meters, you go through a little bridge. You find a home and a little parking where you con leave your car. You take the little path in direction of the crag that it’s visible over the sea. A little before Porto Flavia there’s a steep trail on the right (indication on the stone), follow it and in 7/10 minutes you arrive at the crag.
